A bespoke smoke ventilation system can be designed according to the regulations in Approved Document B, the guidelines contained in BS 9991 and BS 9999, or as the result of Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) modelling.
The resulting system may contain elements of all of the main system types, adjusted to suit particular building layouts, or as the result of specific guidance from the project Fire Engineering Consultant, Building Control Officer, or the local Fire Service.
Please note that it is not recommended to have mechanically assisted smoke shafts and naturally ventilated smoke shafts exhausting from the same smoke 'pool'.
